RAP Services:   Regional Action Phone, Inc. (RAP) is a free, confidential, twenty-four hour Crisis and Suicide Intervention, Information and Referral Hotline. Remember that you do not have to be in crisis to call.  We are just as much Information & Referral as we are Crisis & Suicide.  If you're simply looking for a number, call RAP!   Crisis Intervention:  Develop strategies with callers that assist them in regaining their coping skills. Suicide Intervention: Provide services that turn potentially dangerous situations into opportunities for personal growth and a renewed faith in living. Also provide support to friends and family who are concerned about the suicidal behavior of a loved one. Information & Referral: Link callers to over 2,000 Help Agencies. (i.e. Support Groups, NA,AA & Al-Anon Meetings, Food Pantries, Transportation, Clothing, Prescription, Rent & Utility Assistance, Housing, Counselors/Therapists, Mediation/Legal, Parenting Classes, etc.) "RAP's the place to call when you don’t know where to call." Emergency Assistance Clearinghouse: Provide a centralized database to local food pantries to eliminate duplication of services. Assistance Relay Services:  Connect callers with Alcoholics Anonymous & Al-Anon Contacts. In addition,  Salvation Army & Orleans Community Action Representatives when callers are in housing, food & prescription crisis situations. Genesee/Orleans/Wyoming Community Services Directory:  A reliable resource that is published every two years with approximately 800+ Help Agencies that serve Genesee, Orleans & Wyoming Counties as well as the surrounding area. On-Call Services: Provides On-Call linkage to Genesee County Mental Health Services, Rape Crisis Services of Genesee, Orleans, Livingston & Wyoming Counties, YWCA Domestic Violence Program, ACCORD Corporation Domestic Violence Program, Orleans County Office for the Aging Ombudsman & Caregivers Programs, Orleans County Juvenile Adjustment Services and the Wyoming County Department of Social Services Domestic Violence Program. Education & Outreach: Provide presentations on RAP Services, Crisis and Suicide Intervention, Depression, Stress and/or Whatever Other Topic Might Be Requested.
